Nestled in a serene village near Ribnica, Škrabčeva domačija provided an idyllic escape for my husband and me to celebrate our anniversary. Our stay was marked by exceptional hospitality, with Peter, the estate keeper, personally guiding us through the rich history of the homestead and local area. The spacious, uniquely decorated room boasted soundproof walls and a lovely balcony overlooking the garden, creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. We indulged in a memorable gourmet dinner prepared by local chef Nik and his wife, Mateja, who brought the vibrant flavors of Ribnica to life using fresh, local ingredients. The continental breakfast that followed was equally delightful, setting us up for a day of exploring nearby attractions, including the charming Ribnica museum and handicraft center. With free WiFi throughout the property and a shared kitchen available, this boutique hotel is perfect for groups of friends or couples seeking both luxury and a taste of local culture. Our rejuvenating weekend left us eagerly anticipating our next visit to Škrabčeva domačija, a hidden gem that truly captures the spirit of Slovenia.
